Petter Thorsrud – retired but not tired
I retired from my position at DSS (Departementenes sikkerhets- og serviceorganisasjon – Norwegian Government Security and Service Organisation) on October 1st. 2021 after 16 busy and productive years, but I think I am still able to do some useful work as a freelance consultant. In addition to being with grandchildren, reading, walking and other important and joyful activities.

At DSS I’ve been responsible for concepts and strategies for all web solutions delivered to the ministries; regjeringen.no / government.no, the intranet platform, and a number of other systems. Previous to DSS I spent 7 years (1998-2005, during the infancy of Internet) as a web consultant, learning about the web as it was built.
Before that I spent 20 years in very different positions in the publishing business.
My experience is broad; concepts and strategy, design and technology, information architecture and user experience, internet and intranet, navigation and search, communication and language.
A longtime special interest in the semantic web: SGML/ XML/ Topic maps/ metadata.
Topped off with a fascination (and deep knowledge) about production and publishing of large documents as full text HTML, EPUB, PDF and XML.
